If you have a substance abuse problem then it’s essential to find a Phoenix drug recovery center near you as soon as possible. Death is a likely outcome for those who are abusing drugs, and the scary statistic that 2,000 Americans die every week from drug and alcohol addictions is startling indeed.

Some more disturbing statistics to consider: Half of all car accidents are drug and alcohol related. Some 300,000 or more infants are born every year that are already addicted to drugs because of parental use. Don’t become a statistic! Instead, become one of the success stories and recover from this life-threatening addiction!

Even if you don’t think one of the above scenarios could happen to you, you may still want to look over your life and consider how the addiction affects your happiness. Are you having marital problems or problems with your other relationships? Are you having problems at work? Have you been fired before or have you been asked to take a drug test? These are all clear signs that the drug (whether it is cocaine, alcohol or even a prescription drug) has a hold on you. Don’t let a substance be in control of your life! Instead, seek out Phoenix drug recovery in Arizona.

The thought of a detox stage (ridding the body of the contaminant) is not a pleasant one, but it can be made better with medically trained help there to assist you. Don’t think of the short period of detox; think of the years of life you have ahead, the years you could be living happy and clear headed.

Recovery centers not only help you through the first initial stages (and beyond the withdrawal stage) but also help you through cognitive behavioral therapy, which allows you see the real issues. Many addictions today start as a coping mechanism. Recovery centers will help you break the addiction and teach patients new ways to deal with stress and unhappiness. Phoenix drug recovery in Arizona may be the best thing you ever do for yourself and your loved ones!

When it comes to breaking free from a drug addiction you don’t have to do it alone. There is help available to get you through the storm and out clean on the other side. Don’t be another negative statistic. Take control of your life and let nothing else rob you of your happiness. Contact a Phoenix drug recovery center today!

Dual diagnosis remains a rather complex issue in the Salt Lake City area, and one that not everyone understands. This condition refers to a person who has both a drug addiction and another form of mental illness. Salt Lake City dual diagnosis can be observed in people of all ages, though there is an alarming number of young people suffering from these issues.

It’s not uncommon for rehab patients to have other mental problems, many of which traditionally require medication. This may seem like a vexing situation for you. What should you do? Should you risk becoming further addicted by seeking a psychiatrist’s help? Or should you simply quit all of the drugs and seek cognitive therapy?

The safest answer is to seek guidance from a Salt Lake City dual diagnosis clinic in Utah. Neither of the former scenarios is wise; you should not see a psychiatrist and keep a drug addiction a secret. On the other hand, ignoring your obvious symptoms in fear of further addiction is also poor judgment. You need professional advice.

In fact, you need Salt Lake City dual diagnosis help from a psychiatrist. A regular detox clinic or private rehab center will not be able to help you, unless they have a medical staff on hand. This dual problem requires expert analysis, diagnosis and treatment. Special medications may be used as a replacement for the drugs cleaned out of your system. Sometimes doctors will also prescribe other medications to counteract the symptoms, while also lessening or ridding you of dependency.

Some commonly recommended drugs for Salt Lake City dual diagnosis include opioid replacement therapy, baclofen, and clozapine. The doctor must carefully consider the right drug to prescribe, so that he/she does not unwittingly prescribe a drug that feeds addiction, or that causes other dangerous side effects.

A visit to a professional Salt Lake City dual diagnosis center in Utah is your only option in a dual disorder scenario. You cannot ignore the problem, but need competent medical help. Hiding facts and attending an ordinary rehab center is counterproductive. Make sure the medical facility you choose has good reviews and a stellar reputation in the community. Make sure your doctor is credentialed and understands the predicament and the risks involved in prescribing new medication.

Never feel as if you are beyond therapy or treatment. You can get help for dual disorder, so as long as you seek help from the proper channel.

Understanding the Reasons of Substance Abuse Can Save Lives.

Although drug use has been commonly associated as plaguing millions of adults worldwide, we are now seeing younger and younger teenagers falling victim to the horrible prospect of becoming addicted to any type of drug or substance. But what exactly causes these younger and pure generations to fall victim to the substance abuse that is so common today?

Common Reasons Teens Abuse Substances

The problem with many types of substance abuse cases in teens is the fact that teens are well educated on what counts as a substance. In this case, many gateway drugs may be tried that can lead to more fatal drugs that can do damage to a teen’s body. Steroid use, for instance, may be used by sports players to help bulk up before sports season hits. Nicotine and some kinds of inhalants have also been accredited as being gateway drugs that lead to more powerful addictions.

The biggest cause of the reasons teens succumb to the effects of substance abuse has and always will be peer pressure. It is becoming more common for adults and older teenagers that have been associated with drugs and alcohol to enforce their views on the substance to teenagers who would otherwise not be likely to try such atrocious substances. In that case, educating teenagers of peer pressure and how to avoid it can indeed help save lives in the long run.

Another common effect of teen substance abuse comes via marijuana. We are now seeing parents becoming more likely to use marijuana as compared to previous decades. This is largely due to the fact that many parents were using marijuana in the 1970′s when the drug was vastly popular. Now as these teens have become adults, they may now try to hide the fact that they still use the drug to their kids. But as studies show, almost all kids born to parents who still use the drug in secrecy will be more likely to try the drug themselves if they ever catch on to the fact their parents still abuse the substance.

There are so many pressures for teenagers our modern world. And, as parents, we can’t always shield our children from frustration. Peers replace parents as primary influences and our teens begin to test their limits. One of those dangerous tests may be experimentation and abuse of drugs. The best way to deal with suspicion and eventual confirmation that your child is abusing drugs is to understand the options and consequences.

How to Tell if Your Child is Using

You know your child pretty well, until puberty. Then, things change. However, there are several warning signs that you should not ignore. These could be your clues that your child is using drugs. Any combination of these signs could be an indication:

1. Increased truancy and tardiness to classes

2. Decline in grades or withdrawal from favorite school activities

3. Mood swings and/or personality changes

4. Negative behavior in school

5. Change in peer group or more negative friends

6. Loss of weigh

7. Lack of interest in general appearance

8. Aggressive protective of privacy

9. Withdrawal from family, including close siblings

10. Listlessness or forgetfulness

11. Changes in sleep patterns

If several of these warning signs describe your child’s behavior, proceed with caution. A parent will need to do more investigation and really identify drug use, and not some our issue, as their teens problem.

However, there is no need for detective work in some cases. You have seen paraphernalia. The school has called subsequent to finding your child using or discovered items during a locker search. You have heard rumors. The police have come to your home with allegations of drug possession and/or distribution. At this point, your child has a problem with drugs.

Alcohol and drug addiction can ruin a person and those around them. The sooner you spot the signs, the sooner the person can get the help they need. Read on for some of the things you should look for.

Difficulty:

    Moderate
Instructions

Step 1

The person often appears impaired. If the person often stumbles, slurs their speech or seems unfocused or “out of it” without a medical explanation, they might be under the influence.

Step 2

They have a good job, but are frequently broke, with nothing to show for it. This is often a sign that the person is secretly buying drugs or alcohol, particularly if they often withdraw cash and never have any purchase receipts.

Step 3

They drink at every party, restaurant and bar. Having a drink now and again is fine, but it is a warning sign if they drink at every location and event.

Step 4

They say they need to drink or get high to have fun. This is a big warning sign. It usually means they have trouble functioning socially without being under the influence, or have been subjected to peer pressure to indulge.

Step 5

You find alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia hidden in their room or home. If they feel the need to hide it, it can be a sign of shame and a subconscious knowledge of their addiction.

Step 6

They act like drugs or drinking is “no big deal” and insult those that choose not to partake, or show responsibility with liquor. If they “protest too much”, it’s often a way of throwing attention off their problem.

Step 7

They often try to get others to indulge with them, and/or encourage others to use in excess.

Step 8

They prefer to associate with drinkers or drug abusers, rather than sober people.

Step 9

You see them frequently drinking to excess or abusing drugs. This, of course, is the most obvious sign, and a definite indicator that the person needs help.

Step 10

They get defensive or violent if you ask them not to drink or use drugs, or if you suggest that they have a problem. This is absolutely time for an intervention or outside help.

Weekend cocaine and stimulant misuse is an increasing problem across Wigan, experts say. But many users refuse to acknowledge they have a problem even after their habit has landed them in court.

Elaine Jones, Drug Rehabilitation Requirement Order Concentrator for Wigan Probation Service, says that over recent months a growing number of stimulant users have been handed DRRs by the courts.

These community orders are designed to help people reduce, or even stop, their drug use and to lessen the impact it has on them and the community as a whole.

However, many stimulant users – the group includes cocaine, ecstasy, speed and the liquid chemical GHB – do not think of themselves as drug users, or addicts, in the traditional sense.

Ms Jones said: “You will find that there are an awful lot of users where drugs and alcohol run side-by-side and one of the more common offences coming through now is where stimulants are combined with alcohol which results in fights at the weekend.

“They don’t see themselves as drug users, it is recreational, they don’t understand that their behaviour is no different to, that of someone who uses drugs seven days a week.”

National figures suggest that cocaine use is increasing, with the most recent government figures showing the drug was mentioned on 235 people’s death certificates in 2008, up from 196 the previous year.

But stimulant use is a problem which Wigan’s drug misuse experts are aware of and are addressing.

Wigan Council’s Drug and Alcohol Manager Pat Keane said: “There is evidence to suggest that the use of powder cocaine is increasing nationally and in Wigan.

Treatment services are available for stimulant users and these have been improved over the last 12 months to respond to this trend.

“The use of cocaine can seriously affect health and is particularly dangerous when mixed with alcohol.”

HCG Diet Direct Cites Study Relating Overeating to Drug Addiction

HCG Diet Direct cites a recently published study by the Scripps Research Institute. The study shows that the molecular mechanisms that drive people to overeat are the same as those that drive people into drug addiction. Compulsive eating that drives people into an unhealthy state of obesity may be as difficult to treat as an addiction to heroin.

A preliminary abstract of study findings were presented in October 2009 at a Society for Neuroscience meeting in Chicago. The study was conducted by Professor Paul J. Kenney (Research Associate of Scripps Research Institute) and Paul M. Johnson (graduate student). Their findings were published March 28, 2010 in the advance online edition of Nature Neuroscience.

Jenny Boynton of HCG Diet Direct responded, “These new findings give new substance to the claims of many struggling with their weight that junk food bingeing is nearly impossible to stop. Experts are now saying that the study confirms the addictive qualities of junk food.”

In the study’s rat models obesity was a result of increased quantities of high fat, high calorie consumption due to a simultaneous deterioration of the chemical balance in the reward brain circuitries. Pleasure centers in the brain become less and less responsive resulting in an increase in the amount of “junk food” consumed to obtain the same “pleasure.” The final result is obesity. The changes in the brain of rat models used in this study match those of rat models used in studies of compulsive drug usage (heroin or cocaine).

These findings indicate that obese individuals need drastic change with appropriate weight loss tools to ensure the change is possible.

Homeopathic HCG weight loss formula provides 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per day; similar weight loss results as those offered by invasive cosmetic procedures with extensive recovery times. In comparison, the homeopathic HCG weight loss methods provide an all natural approach with no side effects.
